Nationally 71% of Americans have received the Trump era Covid Vaccine. In the Black community the numbers are much lower. So why do Americans still lag in Covid vaccinations nationally?
As of this week, 70% of the adult population in the United States have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. While this progress represents a marked achievement in vaccinations that has led to steep declines in COVID-19 cases and deaths, vaccination coverage—and the protections provided by it—remains uneven across the country. With the growing spread of the more transmissible Delta variant, cases, hospitalizations, and deaths are once again rising, largely among unvaccinated people. While White adults account for the largest share (57%) of unvaccinated adults, Black and Hispanic people remain less likely than their White counterparts to have received a vaccine, leaving them at increased risk, particularly as the variant spreads.
Early in the 2020 Presidential Campaign
As we all remember, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris were repeatedly asked whether or not they had confidence in President Trump and his team could produce an effective, safe and abundant Coronavirus vaccine before the election. Joe Biden and Harris repeatedly said on camera, in live interviews and in print decried the ability of Trump. Harris was most vehement in her refusal to accept that a safe vaccine could come out of 1600 Pennsylvania.
With a nation already divided along Party lines, the Biden/Harris ticket were a bulwark against which no Democrat would cross. Anyone who even as much as leaned towards accepting a cure coming from the current President [Trump] would be shamed.
This we believe was the single most important reason why we believe Black Americans refuse to consider taking the lifesaving Coronavirus vaccine developed under the Trump Administration. But we have several more reasons you should consider before passing judgement.
When the Trump administration saw that the likelihood of a global pandemic loomed large, he (Donaldus Maximus) instituted what will come to be called “Operation Warpspeed) Usually when a new drug comes to market, it must go through a series of proofs, tests and rigorous safety and efficacy trials before coming to market. In most cases this process could take years if not an entire decade.
President Trump told drug manufacturers and the FDA to suspend usual protocols and speed up the process of bringing a global life saving vaccine to market. Not only did he throw off all tried and true conventions but the Federal government paid for millions of doses of a drug which still had not been developed.
As we all know, on November 10, 2020 miraculously drug manufacturers not only announced they had come up with the first vaccine to cure Covid-19 but that there were several manufacturers to choose from. The world witnessed what can only be described as the fastest drug launch in history and this fast march to market is the very reason why people won’t take the vaccine.
We have all seen the ads on TV telling us of a Class Action Lawsuit against the makers of this drug or that cure. The reason? Nothing is perfect. No drug, cream, lotion or notion is perfect and there is always the possibility of someone or something going sideways.
The manufacturers of the Covid vaccine had brought to market a drug which was touted as being 90+% effective. This was too good to be true and dog gone it, if you were skeptical before, you sure as hell were not allowing anyone to jab you in the arm with this “Snake Oil”
Black Hesitancy due to history
We have all heard, or should be aware of the Tuskegee Experiments. This is the cruel and barbaric experiment conducted by the Administration to see what the effects of Syphillis would have on a population, in this case African American men, if not treated. It was more than experimentation. It was criminal and as far as we can find, no one has ever gone to jail for it nor the families compensated for the damage it did to their ancestors.
To this day, the Black community has shown an aversion to being community guinepigs for the Federal government. As you can see from the graphic above, Blacks lag behind all people groups in receiving the Covid vaccine. Could this be the major reason why Blacks hesitate in receiving the coronavirus vaccine? Or is there another reason why?
Biden/Harris and Dems put undue fear in the hearts of Blacks
The overwhelming reason for the lack of participation by the Black community in the fight against Covid-19 can be traced back to the Biden/Harris administration. There undue effort to strike fear, mistrust and hate for Donald Trump and his vaccine are the cause.
As we can see by the graph above, the data shows that Blacks as a percentage are disproportionately less involved in receiving the Covid-19 vaccine. As a result, the Biden Administration and members of the Democrat Party are to blame for deaths in the Black community due to coronavirus or its complications.
The irony in all of this is that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris along with their horde in the Democrat Party, were the first to receive the Coronavirus vaccine. Once Biden was elected President he did an about face and was in favor of the receiving the lifesaving vaccine. But for political reasons, he and members of the Democrat Party struck fear in the American family. And now that fear may cost members of the Black community to lose their lives
