Time, Flexibility, Sell-Out …

March 26, 2012

At the anti-nuke summit in Seoul yesterday, President Obama revealed something of his intentions for his second term that both his opponents and his most ardent fans have been expecting – and, if you love your country, fearing.  Not about unilaterally disarming our nuclear weapons when rogue nations are building up their arsenals – not even about selling out Europe’s missile defenses (though that’s what he was talking about), but about how he plans to govern in his second term.

Bottom line – if you thought Barack Obama has been extreme in his first term, “you ain’t seen nothin’ yet!”

According to the Washington Times (http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/mar/26/obama-begs-russians-space-missile-defense-talks/):

“Unaware that a microphone was recording him, President Obama asked outgoing Russian President Dmitry Medvedev Monday for breathing room until after Mr. Obama’s re-election campaign to negotiate on missile defense.

“On all these issues, but particularly missile defense, this, this can be solved, but it’s important for him to give me space,” Mr. Obama told Mr. Medvedev  at the end of their 90-minute meeting, apparently referring to incoming Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“This is my last election,” Mr. Obama said. “After my election, I have more flexibility.”

More flexibility means even more outrageous far-left initiatives, more sell-out defense treaties, more draconian Executive Orders, more impossibly socialistic court appointments, more apologies to the world’s dictators – more of everything that Obama has done in his first four years to sell America down the river.

This is American conservatives’ wost nightmare.  Thanks to Obama’s unintended candor before an open mic, there is no more question – we now have our answer, from Obama’s own mouth.  He will take America farther to the Left, reducing the world’s sole Superpower to third-world status, while stripping Americans of our most cherished freedoms – speech, religion, self-defense.

Come November, we will be faced by a Republican alternative who:

  • Sits on a sofa with Nancy Pelosi mouthing Green-Age blather about Global Warming: or,
  • Governed from left-of-center in Massachusetts; or,
  • Talks “conservative” but who voted to fund the EPA, supported Bush’s most left-leaning big-government initiatives and was voted out of office by his own constituents by an 18% margin

There is not a Reagan among them.

The Party hasn’t given us a lot of great choices this year, and there’s a temptation – as there was when McCain was the Republican standard-bearer four years ago – to sit on our hands in disgust or disappointment instead of getting out to vote, and urging our friends and families to get out to vote.  But regardless of who our nominee is, can we really afford four more years of a President Obama who, “after my election … will have more flexibility” … ?

I don’t think so, and I hope you don’t, either.
